«After the division of the island
there are those who fought for
for the reunification, and those
who fought to keep their island,
at least their part of it,conserving
their attachment to the island
next-door.”
Alongside Mathilde Vaveau’s photographs, Alice Lognonné’s short story is the erratic evocation of a trip in Ireland. Between Belfast, capital of Northern Ireland, and Coleman Island – a minuscule enclave belonging to the Republic of Ireland, the memories and thoughts of the narrator create a broken set of reflections about borders, fences and transitional spaces. This story is an intimate call for the experience of mobility.
